Kicking off the 2nd Annual Bright Lights Big City Blues Week! from June 1st to June 10th.

Events that combine fundraising, educational activities, exciting musical performances, and the opportunity to meet, play music with, and learn from a professional, award-winning blues artist don’t come along very often … 

unless you are a student or a supporter of the Uptown Music Collective, then they happen at least once a year at the school’s yearly – 

Blues-A-Thon!

The Uptown Music Collective’s 10th Annual Blues-A-Thon, sponsored in part by the Billtown Blues Association and the Brickyard Restaurant and Ale House, will begin on June 1st at 6 pm on Pine Street during First Friday activities in Williamsport and wrap-up at 8 pm on June 2nd.  

The two-day event will feature internationally known Bluesman and educator, Tas Cru, UMC Students and Staff, as well as local Blues musicians, and friends of the UMC performing a variety of Blues styles.

New to the Blues-A-Thon this year is the addition of the 1st Annual Billtown Barbecue Bash where you decide which of the participating area restaurants makes Billtown’s BEST Barbecue!

The Blues-A-Thon works like a musical version Relay for Life with participants asking friends and family to sponsor their participation for a certain number of hours during the event.

The goal is to raise $5,000 through the 10th Annual Blues-A-Thon which will help to support the Collective’s free programs including STOMP, iOn Uptown, Tech Monkey, and more!!
