Studied Voice & the Keyboard through the Collective.

UMC Graduation Class: 2017

Current Occupation: Full-time student studying Corporate Communications at Lycoming College.

I’m currently getting ready to intern at the Cannes Film Festival next year. Host a radio show on 91.7 The Thunder. And just finished writing a marketing plan as a class project for UMC!”

“UMC shaped me to be a better individual by teaching me responsibility, developing my individuality, while also learning to work with others. They taught me to put myself out there and take risks, which has actually helped me land many opportunities.

Taking lessons/workshops and performing with other students taught me how to connect and communicate with other people, while learning how to perform and talk onstage all inspired me to take up a career in communications, which I have found to be the perfect fit.

Learning to perfect my singing also helped me to build my confidence within myself and my voice; something I didn’t have before the Collective.

“The most valuable lesson I learned through the Collective is PRACTICE!”

I run a radio show on campus at Lycoming College, so UMC has definitely influenced my taste in music. I continue to play and sing (on my own) whenever I can.”

Making sure people are aware of the arts in our community by going to shows, art exhibits, events, and recommending it to other people is important. I also participate when I can!

“While everyone needs music in their lives, UMC is much more than just lessons and performing music: they also teach their students important lessons that they can apply to almost all aspects of life. They’re such a important part of the musical community in Williamsport, and without them, we’d lose a huge part of what makes this area’s culture great. Whether you’re a student, parent, or an avid fan, being a part of the UMC family is an amazing experience and makes you a better person overall.”
