Summer Music Fest 2022

Summer Music Fest with the Uptown Music Collective!

The Uptown Music Collective is set to present its annual free Summer Music Festival on Saturday, July 23rd at Williamsport’s Brandon Park Band Shell. Scholarship Applications for 2022-2023 are now closed.

The online application and all required attachments deadline was June 6th, 2022. This year, the Collective is offering 13 needs- and merit-based scholarships to currently enrolled students, as well as new students wishing to enroll in the school for the upcoming year. All scholarships that are being offered will cover one full year at the school of music.

Rock The Block '22 -- A Tribute to Pink Floyd with the Uptown Music Collective

The Walk-In Art Center in Schuylkill Haven is ready to Rock the Block again with the Uptown Music Collective. This year they serve up a Tribute to Pink Floyd and the concert ticket is just $30 and includes 2 pints of Yuengling beer (drink vouchers can be used for soda if you choose). Wristbands will be given to attendees over the age of 21 and IDs will be checked at the gate. Tickets can be purchased for those under 21 this year. NOTE: Tickets sold after 5/6/22 will be held at Will-Call to be picked up at the gate.

The Uptown Music Collective returns to the Millbrook Playhouse on May 6th and 7th, 2022 with a special encore presentation of Us and Them: Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon and Beyond. This concert will feature Pink Floyd’s 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon played in its entirety as well as other hits and deep cuts from the band’s monumental career brought to life on stage as only the students of the Collective can!

All Things Must Pass: The Solo Works of the Beatles

On March 10th, 11th, and 12th, the Uptown Music Collective returns to the Community Theatre League to present All Things Must Pass: The Solo Works of The Beatles. This intimate performance will feature the music from the solo careers of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr after the dissolution of The Beatles in 1970. The Uptown Music Collective is now enrolling for its popular early childhood music program, Discovering Music! For the Winter/Spring semester of 2022, we are offering multiple classes for both Pre-School Age (Ages 3-5) & School Age (Ages 6-8) students. Nothin' But a Good Time: Revenge of the '80s Hair Bands

The students of the Uptown Music Collective return to the Community Arts Center for ONE NIGHT ONLY to present Nothin’ But A Good Time: Revenge of the ‘80s Hair Bands on Saturday, January 29th at 7:30 pm. This is the school’s “people’s choice” show, the result of fans casting their votes in the summer of 2021. COVID-19 UPDATE: January 2022

As of January 2022, we have updated our mitigation and quarantine protocols.  Due to the current state of COVID-19 cases in the local area, we have decided to continue to require masks to be worn at all times while in our facility by all staff, teachers, students, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status. Click here to read more…

WUMC: FM Radio Hits of the '70s

The students of the Uptown Music Collective return to the Community Arts Center stage to kick off their 2021-2022 Performance Season with WUMC: FM Radio Hits of the ‘70s. This performance will focus on radio rock & pop hits of the 1970s from artists such as Bruce Springsteen, The Steve Miller Band, Peter Frampton, Free, Heart, Bob Seger, Blondie, Pat Benatar, Eddie Money, Meat Loaf, and many more. This concert will be unlike anything the school has presented before, featuring area DJ’s live on stage, giving the audience a “retro ‘70s radio atmosphere” while adding a new and exciting element to the Collective’s traditionally outstanding live performances.   Show Info…

Uptown Music Collective awarded nearly $30,000 through FCFP grant to meet equipment and technology needs

The Uptown Music Collective, the area’s premier nonprofit school of music, has received an award in the amount of $26,954.23 from the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania. The allocation, which represents a grant from the Williamsport Lycoming Community Fund, is to be used for curriculum recording and streaming equipment, as well as upgrades to computers and software for staff. **UMC SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT!!*** The Uptown Music Collective is now accepting scholarship applications for its 2021-2022 school year! This year, the Collective is offering 11 needs- and merit-based scholarships to currently enrolled students, as well as new students wishing to enroll in the school for the upcoming year. All scholarships that are being offered will cover one full year at the school of music. Current scholarship stewards include The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania via the Lew Gilberti Fund, Angelina’s Song Foundation, Geisinger’s Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, Hudock Capital Group, Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships, UPMC, The Miller Family, and KFC.

The deadline to submit your application is July 16th, 2021!
